November Meeting Highlights at Raceway Park
At this past November meeting "Ladies'
Night", attendees enjoyed
an evening of trotter horse racing in the Crazy Horse Clubhouse at
Toledo's Raceway Park. After a dinner of salmon or baked
chicken, many of the attendees enjoyed the opportunity to place
wagers on each of 12 races that were held that Friday evening.
The fourth race of the evening was dedicated the Toledo Chapter
of the AFS, and after a long cold waiting delay due to an inquiry,
many of the attendees had the opportunity to pose with the winning
#3 horse. However, the horse proved to be uncooperative for the
picture that was taken.
During the festive evening, as part of the
"Ladies' Night" theme,
each spouse or significant other was provided with a "pre-placed"
bet with a specific horse to "show". Top prizes such as gift
certificates to Tony Packos, Mancy's Steakhouse, and the Olive
Garden as well as cash were awarded to the winners, however, no
spouse or significant other left without being a winner in at least
one of the races, thanks to Toledo Chapter Board Member, Gary
Hoehn. The AFS Toledo Chapter would like to thank Harold
Hinshaw and Gary Hoehn for making "Ladies' Night at Raceway
Park" such a wonderful success.
