March 2006 Meeting

The Toledo Chapter AFS awarded five scholarships at its March 7, 2006 meeting, held at Sam B's Restaurant in Bowling Green, Ohio. Pictured with Chapter Chairman Jim Gary are two of the scholarship recipients, Patrick Quimby (left), a student at Michigan Technological University, and David Poerschke (right), Case Western Reserve University. Also receiving scholarships were Stephanie Collins, Kai Christopher Hartman and Stephanie Vogelpohl.

Did you know that Ohio State University does not have a foundry lab? The Foundry Education Foundation (FEF) is trying to get financing for one, and OSU’s Dr. Doru Stefanescu spoke on this topic at the March 7 meeting.
